Thirty years ago this extraordinary 243ft four-masted schooner was designed and built for the single-handed yachtsman Alain Colaat the Toulon Naval Dockyard. In 1997 she began a major refit and, like a butterfly, emerged as not only one of the world’s largest and fastest sailing charter yachts but also one of the finest.

Today PHOCEA has an interior of beautiful wood panelling, exquisite David Linley furniture, and luxurious soft furnishings.

Her gymnasium, hairdressing salon, sauna, watersports equipment, audio and visual systems are all state-of-the-art, but despite the high-tech provenance her interior boasts a classic ambience to suit all tastes.

The Owner’s suite, commanding fine views, is situated on the main deck whilst the VIP guest cabin and four other double cabins, all with full ensuite facilities, are located on the lower deck.

Lets start with my personal favourite.  The RM Elegant.

Chartered by A-listers such as Puff Daddy and Wayne Rooney the RM Elegant is 72m of celebrity playground. Completed in 2004 by WEM lines the RM Elegant can accommodate 30 guests in 15 luxurious cabins with a crew of 32. She was listed as the 56^th largest motor yacht in the world in 2008 by Power and Motor Yacht magazine.

Powered by 2 twin 2260hp Caterpillar 3516 engines she has a maximum speed of 18 knots and a range of 3,300 nautical miles.

For guests that can’t leave the office behind there is a business centre with satellite communication, computers and wireless internet access. For those that can there is satellite TV, home cinema system, plasma screens and CD or DVD players.

The 15 cabins consist of one master stateroom, one VIP double cabin and a further 13 double or twin cabins.

Guests can make use of the 12-person Jacuzzi, beauty salon, gymnasium, sauna, and massage room.

Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the three 6.5m Oceanic RIB tenders with 150hp Yamaha outboard motors, three Yamaha GP800 120hp Jet skis, water skis, wakeboard, kayaks and snorkelling equipment.

The RM Elegant can be chartered from 60,000 Euros a day.
